A Protestant, he was a member of Masonic Harmony Lodge Free and Accepted Masons 42, Watertown, Conn., DeBary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8093. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, where he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Medal for Humane Action and the Korean Service Medal
